Socio-cultural factors of sexually transmitted infections: a focus on health education

Resumo: To know and reflect about the socio-cultural factors of sexually transmitted infections, focusing on health education. Qualitative, descriptive study of theoretical and philosophical reflection on socio-cultural factors, sexually transmitted infections, in analogy with authors who discuss the theme addressed. References were sought that relate socioeconomic and cultural factors with a focus on health education. Sexually Transmitted Infections are public health problems due to their magnitude and difficulty in accessing appropriate treatment. Sociocultural aspects are inserted in several areas of health, especially those most stigmatized by society such as sexually transmitted infections. We can observe the importance of ecological aspects regarding sexually transmitted infections and how the dynamics of society's behavior impacts its evolution. The study reveals which aspects are relevant in the socio-cultural field of sexually transmitted infections for prevention with a focus on health education. The basic strategy for controlling the transmission of sexually transmitted infections is prevention by means of educational activities that focus on the risks inherent in unprotected sex, behavioral change, and condom adoption by analyzing the particular factors of each community segment.

Estudio cualitativo, descriptivo, de reflexión teórica y filosófica sobre factores socioculturales, infecciones de transmisión sexual, en analogía con los autores que discuten el tema abordado. Se buscaron referencias que relacionen factores socioeconómicos y culturales con un enfoque en la educación para la salud. Las infecciones de transmisión sexual son problemas de salud pública debido a su magnitud y dificultad para acceder al tratamiento adecuado. Los aspectos socioculturales se insertan en varias áreas de la salud, especialmente las más estigmatizadas por la sociedad, como las infecciones de transmisión sexual. Podemos observar la importancia de los aspectos ecológicos con respecto a las infecciones de transmisión sexual y cómo la dinámica del comportamiento de la sociedad impacta su evolución. El estudio revela qué aspectos son relevantes en el campo sociocultural de las infecciones de transmisión sexual para la prevención con un enfoque en la educación para la salud. La estrategia básica para controlar la transmisión de infecciones de transmisión sexual es la prevención que permite actividades educativas que se centran en los riesgos inherentes al sexo sin protección, el cambio de comportamiento y la adopción del condón mediante el análisis de los factores particulares de cada uno. segmento de la comunidad.Este artigo objetivou conhecer e refletir a cerca dos fatores sócio eco culturais, das infecções sexualmente transmissíveis, com enfoque na educação em saúde. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo, descritivo, de reflexão teórico-filosófica acerca dos fatores sócio eco culturais, das infecções sexualmente transmissíveis, em analogia com autores que discutem a temática abordada. Buscaram-se referências que relacionam os fatores sócio eco e culturais com enfoque na educação em saúde. As Infecções Sexualmente Transmissíveis são problemas de Saúde Pública, devido à sua magnitude e dificuldade de acesso ao tratamento adequado. Aspectos socioculturais estão inseridos em diversas áreas da saúde principalmente naquelas mais estigmatizadas pela sociedade tais como ás infecção sexualmente transmissíveis. Podemos observar a importância dos aspectos ecológicos no que tange as infecções sexualmente transmissíveis e como a dinamicidade do comportamento da sociedade impacta na sua evolução. O estudo revela quais aspectos são relevantes, no campo sócio eco cultural, das infecções sexualmente transmissíveis para a prevenção com enfoque na educação em saúde.
