This article addresses the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and its relationship in Brazilian law, in the aspects that refer to violence against women. Through qualitative bibliographic research, based on books, journals, scientific articles, doctrines and jurisprudence, using the deductive method, in order to gather information and data on the subject under study, new knowledge and deepening of the subject were sought. . Initial considerations on the proposed topic were elaborated, followed by a brief historical context of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights. In the third chapter, the social panorama of current violence against women was evaluated, and in the last chapter, a contrast was made between what is established in the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the articulations to the effective fight against domestic violence. The general objective of the research is to describe the functioning of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in relation to guaranteeing and protecting the human rights of women at the national level. As a result, it was possible to observe that, despite the various policies adopted in Brazil, in order to curb the violation of women's rights, violence against them appears as one of the most incidents in the country and does not privilege one or another social class, it is not object of individual order, but a question that involves the entire structure of a society.
