Resumo: Objective: identify situations of violence suffered by nurses in pre-hospital care in areas of risk or urban conflict. Method: qualitative study, based on an instrument on violence at work formulated by the researchers and the use of the Johari Window to represent the results. Data collection occurred in 14 pre-hospital care units, with the participation of 67 nurses. Results: it was identified that 80.6% (n=54) of the participants were victims of threat by criminals, of them 90.7% (n=49) with presence of firearms, mainly rifles. 76.1% (n=51) of the participants reported that they had already been prevented from performing care by criminals or by threats of violence, due to exchanges of fire, barricades and prohibition of the entry of health teams in the communities. The participants reported feeling a lot of fear, stress, insecurity, anguish and tachycardia during work in pre-hospital care, using religious beliefs for protection. Conclusion: the study identified that pre-hospital nurses are working in areas of risk or urban conflict under the power of drug trafficking, being threatened with firearms and prevented from performing the aid by threats of violence, exchanges of fire, barricades and prohibition by members of drug trafficking.
