Characterization of the sociodemographic and professional profile of military firefighters in Belém, Pará, Brazil

Resumo: | This paper aimed to characterize the sociodemographic and professional profile of firefighters in the metropolitan region of Belem. The pape is Cross-sectional, quantitative, descriptional study. results found that 92.23% of the military personnel are male and 7.77% female. Regarding the level of the officers, 76.61% of male personnel are married or in a common-law marriage, in the rank of Major represents 26.61% while 49.19% of the officers have over 20 years of service. Women married or in a common-law marriage represents 45.45% while single union represents 45.45%, the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel predominates with 31.82%, while 36.37% have between 11 to 15 years of service. In both genders, College degree and age group ratings from 40 to 49 years old are predominant. Among the enlisted personnel prevail male gender, married or common-law marriage, with 72.68%, 48.29% of male enlisted personnel have graduated from high school, 35.08% represents age group of 40 to 49 years old, undergraduate education is predominant among this group. Sergeants represent 35.38%, and the time of service, with over 20 years, represents 46.88%. The female gender personnel is 50.00% single, 48.61% have a college degree, the age group of 30 to 39 years, represents 61.11%, the corporal rank prevails, with 51.39%, and length of service from 11 to 15 years, represents 51.39%. This study concludes that the percentage of women in the force still displays low ratings stressing that 529 military personnel have more than 20 years of service, and will soon retire and leave the institution. |

Estudio transversal, cuantitativo, descriptivo. Se encontro que el 92.23% de los militares son hombres e el 7.77% mujeres. De los oficiales, el 76.61% de los hombre están casados o en una relación estable, un Mayor con 26.61% y el 49.19% de los oficiales tiene más de 20 años de servicio. Las mujeres son 45.45% casadas o en unión estable y soltera 45.45%, predomina el cargo de Teniente Coronel con 31.82%, y 36.37% tiene 11 y 15 años de servicio. En ambos sexos predomina la educación superior completa y el grupo de edad de 40 a 40 años. Entre las casillas masculinas tienen bachillerato completo, 35.08% tienen 40 a 49 años, predominan los Sargento, con 35.38%, y tiempo de servicio superior a 20 años, con 46.88%. Las casillas femininas son 50.00% solteras, 48.61% tienen estudios superiores completos, tienen 30 a 39 años, con 61.11%, predomina la graduación de Cabo, con 51.39%, y tiempo de servicio 11 y 15 años, con un 51.39%. Se concluye que el porcentaje de mujeres en la corporación aún es bajo y que 529 militares han trabajado por más de 20 años y pronto se jubilarán y dejerán la institución.O estudo objetivou caracterizar o perfil sociodemográfico e profissional dos bombeiros da região metropolitana de Belém. Estudo transversal, quantitativo, descritivo. Constatou-se que 92,23% dos militares são do sexo masculino e 7,77% do feminino. Dos oficiais, 76,61% dos masculinos são casados ou tem união estável, posto de Major com 26,61% e 49,19% dos oficiais tem acima de 20 anos de tempo de serviço. As femininos são 45,45% casada ou em união estável e solteira 45,45%, predomina o posto de Tenente-Coronel com 31,82%, e 36,37% possui de 11 e 15 anos de tempo de serviço. Nos dois sexos predominou o ensino superior completo e faixa etária de 40 a 49 anos. Entre as praças, os masculinos prevalece estado civil casado ou união estável, com 72,68%, 48,29% das praças masculinos possuem o ensino médio completo, 35,08% possuem de 40 a 49 anos de idade, predomina a graduação de Sargento, com 35,38%, e tempo de serviço acima de 20 anos, com 46,88%. As praças feminino são 50,00% solteiras, 48,61% possuem o ensino superior completo, tem idade de 30 a 39 anos, com 61,11%, prevalece a graduação de Cabo, com 51,39%, e tempo de serviço de 11 e 15 anos, com 51,39%.
