Resumo: Introduction: Alzheimer's disease mainly affects the elderly. With the progression of the disease, the carrier individual is affected by physical, functional, psycho-social changes, among others. From this, the stimulation through the regular practice of physical activity contributes to attenuate the advances of the disease. Objective: To analyze and identify the positive effects of physical activity in elderly people with Alzheimer's disease and how it acts in delaying the disease. Methods: The present study is an integrative review of the literature in Portuguese, where articles published in the last 10 years in the following databases were used: BVS (Virtual Health Library), SCIELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online) and RSD Journal (Research Magazine, Society And Development). Through the following descriptors: Physical activity, elderly, Alzheimer's disease and the Boolean AND operator. After applying filters and inclusion and exclusion criteria. Thus, only 6 articles made up the final sample. Conclusions: It is concluded that regular physical activity practices are essential for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease in the elderly, offering neurological and coordination improvements, minimizing the problems caused. It is worth mentioning the need for more studies and that these have specific methods for each stage of Alzheimer's disease.

Deste modo, apenas 6 artigos compuseram a amostra final.
