Impact of structural variables on hydroenergetic efficientization of water pumping system

Resumo: | Evaluate the structural variables influence on the consumption and the electrical energy cost from Guamá river’s Water Pumping System (WPS) located in Belém city (Pará), through Plackett and Burman experimental planning, computational simulations and of statistical analysis. This present study was divided into four stages. In Step 1, it was carried out the design characterization and limits determination (minimum and maximum) of the variables geometric height, diameter and pressurized pipes length and stand pipe reservoir useful volume. Then (Step 2) it was applied the Plackett and Burman experimental planning, in order to define the number of tests to be simulated. In Step 3, it was held hydraulic simulations of different operational routines, to determine the consumption and electric power cost in the WPS. The last stage was accomplished statistical analysis (Hypothesis test and Pareto Diagram) for a 95% significance level. Based on the results, the structural variables that most impacted upon the consumption and the WPS electricity cost Guamá River were the useful volume daily required, followed by the pressurized pipe diameter. From the experimental planning technique application, the sanitation manager will be able to prioritize the energy efficiency actions of the investigated system. |

Esta investigación se dividió en cuatro etapas. En el Paso 1 se realizó la caracterización del diseño y determinación de los límites (mínimo y máximo) de las variables altura geométrica, diámetro y longitud de las tuberías de descarga y volumen útil del reservorio elevado. Luego (Paso 2) se aplicó el diseño experimental de Plackett y Burman, con el propósito de definir el número de pruebas a simular. En el Paso 3, se realizaron simulaciones hidráulicas de diferentes rutinas operativas para determinar el consumo y costo de la electricidad en la SBA. En la última etapa se realizaron análisis estadísticos (Prueba de hipótesis y diagrama de Pareto), con un nivel de significancia del 95%. Con base en los resultados, las variables estructurales que más impactaron el consumo y costo de la electricidad en la SBA Río Guamá fueron el volumen útil diario requerido, seguido del diámetro de la tubería de descarga. A partir de la aplicación de la técnica de planificación experimental, el responsable de saneamiento podrá priorizar las acciones de eficiencia energética del sistema investigado.Avaliar a influência das variáveis estruturais sobre o consumo e o custo de energia elétrica do Sistema de Bombeamento de Água do Rio Guamá localizado na cidade de Belém do Pará, por meio de técnica de planejamento de experimentos de Plackett e Burman, de simulações computacionais e de análises estatísticas. A presente pesquisa foi dividida em quatro etapas. Na Etapa 1 foi realizada a caracterização da concepção e determinação dos limites (mínimo e máximo) das variáveis altura geométrica, diâmetro e comprimento das tubulações de recalque e volume útil do reservatório elevado. Em seguida (Etapa 2) foi aplicado o planejamento experimental de Plackett e Burman, com a finalidade de definir o número de ensaios a serem simulados. Na Etapa 3 foram realizadas a simulações hidráulicas de diferentes rotinas operacionais, para determinação do consumo e do custo de energia elétrica no SBA. Na última etapa foram realizadas análises estatísticas (Teste de hipótese e Diagrama de Pareto), para nível de significância de 95%. Com base nos resultados as variáveis estruturais que mais impactaram sobre o consumo e o custo de energia elétrica do SBA Rio Guamá foram o volume útil requerido diariamente, seguido do diâmetro da tubulação de recalque.
