Evaluation of the consumption of slimming drugs dispensed in a drugstore

Resumo: Obesity is classified as a public health problem affecting millions of people worldwide. Therefore, anorexigenic drugs are seen as allies to fight the disease, however, abusive and irrational consumption can generate health risks. Thus, the objective was to investigate the outputs of the main weight loss dispensers, addressing the risks that this medication can cause. This study is a quantitative, descriptive, retrospective research model carried out from September to October 2019 in a drugstore located in Teresina Piauí. Regarding the dispensation of the main weight loss products from January 2017 to December 2018, the results point sibutramine as the only psychotropic anorexigen dispensed, obtaining a reduction of 7% in the years evaluated, demonstrating greater control in the sale. On the other hand, there was an increase in the weight loss marketed without restriction of medical prescription. There is then a reduction in the consumption of sibutramine in the drugstore, reflecting the control that RDC No. 52 imposes. Therefore, the role of the pharmacist in the dispensation of these drugs is fundamental, alerting the risks that this class can cause to the consumer's health.

Por lo tanto, las drogas anorexigénicas se consideran aliadas para combatir la enfermedad, sin embargo, el consumo abusivo e irracional puede generar riesgos para la salud. Por lo tanto, el objetivo era investigar los resultados de los principales dispensadores de pérdida de peso, abordando los riesgos que puede causar este medicamento. Este estudio es un modelo de investigación cuantitativo, descriptivo, retrospectivo llevado a cabo de septiembre a octubre de 2019 en una farmacia ubicada en Teresina Piauí. En cuanto a la dispensación de los principales productos de pérdida de peso desde enero de 2017 hasta diciembre de 2018, los resultados apuntan a la sibutramina como el único anorexígeno psicotrópico dispensado, obteniendo una reducción del 7% en los años evaluados, lo que demuestra un mayor control en la venta. Por otro lado, hubo un aumento en la pérdida de peso comercializada sin restricción de prescripción médica. Luego hay una reducción en el consumo de sibutramina en la farmacia, lo que refleja el control que impone RDC No. 52. Por lo tanto, el papel del farmacéutico en la dispensación de estos medicamentos es fundamental, alertando los riesgos que esta clase puede causar a la salud del consumidor.A obesidade classifica-se como um problema de saúde pública atingindo milhões de pessoas mundialmente. Diante disso, fármacos anorexígenos são vistos como aliados para combater à doença, entretanto, o consumo abusivo e irracional pode gerar riscos à saúde. Com isso, objetivou-se investigar as saídas dos principais emagrecedores dispensados, abordando os riscos que essa medicação pode causar. Este estudo trata-se de um modelo de pesquisa quantitativo, descritivo, retrospectivo realizado no período de setembro a outubro de 2019 em drogaria localizada em Teresina Piauí. A respeito da dispensação dos principais emagrecedores no período de janeiro de 2017 a dezembro de 2018.Os resultados apontam a sibutramina como único anorexígeno psicotrópico dispensado, obtendo-se uma redução de 7% nos anos avaliados, demonstrando maior controle na venda. Em contrapartida, observou-se o aumento dos emagrecedores comercializados sem restrição de receituário médico. Nota-se então a redução do consumo de sibutramina na drogaria reflexo do controle que a RDC nº 52 impõe.
