The use of dentin adhesive systems available for clinical dental practice

Resumo: Objective: to present, through a literature review, updated knowledge about adhesive systems, application techniques and bonding mechanisms, thus offering clinicians better results when choosing excellent materials to meet their clinical needs. Materials and Methods: The selection of articles was carried out through an electronic search in the Scielo, PubMed and Lilacs databases. 55 articles published between 1992 and 2022 were considered eligible. Results and discussion: adhesive systems available on the market can be classified into three categories: conventional, self-etching and universal. The present study presents us with significant results with the diversity of these systems that the market presents, however, in addition to the material being of high quality, it must be associated with knowledge of the application technique and theoretical/practical knowledge so that the desired result is achieved. Conclusion: the available studies show us that the association of accurate technical knowledge is completely related to a successful result in the clinical application of adhesive systems.

Materiales y Métodos: La selección de artículos se realizó mediante búsqueda electrónica en las bases de datos Scielo, PubMed y Lilacs. Se consideraron elegibles 55 artículos publicados entre 1992 y 2022. Resultados y discusión: los sistemas adhesivos disponibles en el mercado se pueden clasificar en tres categorías: convencionales, autograbantes y universales. El presente estudio nos presenta resultados significativos con la diversidad de estos sistemas que presenta el mercado, sin embargo, además de que el material sea de alta calidad, se debe asociar al conocimiento de la técnica de aplicación y conocimientos teóricos/prácticos para que se obtenga el resultado deseado. se logra el resultado. Conclusión: los estudios disponibles nos muestran que la asociación de conocimientos técnicos precisos está completamente relacionada con un resultado exitoso en la aplicación clínica de sistemas adhesivos.Objetivo: apresentar por meio de uma revisão de literatura conhecimentos atualizados sobre os sistemas adesivos, técnicas de aplicação e mecanismos de união, oferecendo assim ao clínico melhores resultados ao escolher materiais de excelência para suprir suas necessidades clínicas. Materiais e Métodos: A seleção de artigos foi realizada por meio de uma busca eletrônica nas bases de dados Scielo, PubMed e Lilacs. Foram considerados elegíveis 55 artigos publicados entre os anos de 1992 e 2022. Resultados e discussão: os sistemas adesivos disponíveis no mercado podem ser classificados em três categorias: convencionais, autocondicionantes e universais. O presente estudo, mostra resultados significativos com a diversidade desses sistemas que o mercado apresenta, porém, além do material ser de alta qualidade deve ser associado ao conhecimento da técnica de aplicação e conhecimento teórico/prático para que assim o resultado desejado seja alcançado.
