Conceptual design of an automated logistics system applied to the furniture industry

Resumo: | The application of Industry 4.0 technologies and concepts in industrial logistics processes is an efficient strategy to reduce operating costs, speed up deliveries and increase the efficiency of the enterprise. Thus, this work aims to carry out the conceptual design of an automated logistics system involving the movement, storage and management of packaged products in a furniture industry. The elaboration of this project used the first two stages of the project development methodology proposed by Pahl, Beitz, Feldhusem and Grote (2005), the planning phase and the conception phase. These steps made it possible to prepare the list of requirements, obtain and evaluate the solution variants and present the conceptual design of an automated logistics system based on Industry 4.0 and Logistics 4.0 technologies through the identification of products by radiofrequency and movement by autonomous mobile robots. Aiming at the fabrication and implementation of this conceptual project, two more steps of the methodology of Pahl et al. (2005), the preliminary design phase and the detailed design phase. These steps will define the technical specifications of the equipment and the details of how the transporters, the storage system and the management software work, culminating in the detailed layout of the automated logistics system. Thus, the project has the potential to leverage the growth of the furniture industry, as it will provide an increase in the storage and transport capacity of products independently of human activity and will guarantee the traceability of products in real time. |

Es así que este trabajo tiene como objetivo realizar el diseño conceptual de un sistema logístico automatizado que involucre el movimiento, almacenamiento y manejo de productos empacados en una industria de muebles. La elaboración de este proyecto utilizó las dos primeras etapas de la metodología de desarrollo de proyectos propuesta por Pahl, Beitz, Feldhusem y Grote (2005), la fase de planificación y la fase de concepción. Estos pasos permitieron elaborar la lista de requerimientos, obtener y evaluar las variantes de solución y presentar el diseño conceptual de un sistema logístico automatizado basado en tecnologías Industria 4.0 y Logística 4.0 a través de la identificación de productos por radiofrecuencia y movimiento por robots móviles autónomos. Con el objetivo de la fabricación e implementación de este proyecto conceptual, dos pasos más de la metodología de Pahl et al. (2005), la fase de diseño preliminar y la fase de diseño detallado. Estos pasos definirán las especificaciones técnicas de los equipos y los detalles de funcionamiento de los transportadores, el sistema de almacenamiento y el software de gestión, culminando con el diseño detallado del sistema logístico automatizado. Así, el proyecto tiene el potencial de apalancar el crecimiento de la industria del mueble, ya que proporcionará un aumento en la capacidad de almacenamiento y transporte de productos independientemente de la actividad humana y garantizará la trazabilidad de los productos en tiempo real.A aplicação das tecnologias e conceitos da Indústria 4.0 nos processos logísticos industriais é uma estratégia eficiente para reduzir custos operacionais, agilizar as entregas e aumentar a eficiência do empreendimento. Assim, este trabalho tem como objetivo a realização do projeto conceitual de um sistema logístico automatizado envolvendo a movimentação, armazenagem e gerenciamento dos produtos embalados de uma indústria moveleira. A elaboração deste projeto utilizou as duas primeiras etapas da metodologia de desenvolvimento de projeto proposta por Pahl, Beitz, Feldhusem e Grote (2005), a fase de planejamento e a fase de concepção. Estas etapas permitiram elaborar a lista de requisitos, obter e avaliar as variantes de solução e apresentar o projeto conceitual de um sistema logístico automatizado baseado nas tecnologias da Indústria 4.0 e Logística 4.0 através da identificação dos produtos por radiofrequência e da movimentação por robôs móveis autônomos. Visando a fabricação e implantação deste projeto conceitual são necessárias mais duas etapas da metodologia de Pahl et al. (2005), a fase do projeto preliminar e a fase do projeto detalhado. Estas etapas definirão as especificações técnicas dos equipamentos e o detalhamento da forma de funcionamento dos transportadores, do sistema de armazenagem e do software de gerenciamento, culminando com o layout detalhado do sistema logístico automatizado.
