Quality of life of climate women in primary health care

Resumo: To analyze the symptoms and quality of life of climacteric women treated in primary health care. Analytical, cross-sectional and quantitative study, carried out in a Basic Health Unit in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Buriti dos Montes-PI. The sample was based on the number of women registered at the UBS aged between 40 and 65 years. Women who had been oophorectomized or who were using Hormone Replacement Therapy were excluded from the study. For data collection, a questionnaire addressing the socioeconomic characterization of the research participants and another questionnaire addressing the quality of life of climacteric women (Women's Health Questionnare) were used. The research followed the standards of ethics in research related to human beings. The average age of the women was 55 years old, married, multiparous, mixed-race, with a family income of less than 1 minimum wage. They were overweight and most were at high risk for metabolic complications. The mean age at menarche was 13.15 years and at menopause 46.51 years. Most of the research participants used some medication with a higher incidence of antihypertensive drugs, did not perform physical activity and were sexually active. The complaints that most affected the participants were back and limb pain, hot flashes and night sweats. The domain that most compromised the quality of life of climacteric women was vasomotor symptoms. The quality of life of climacteric women is affected by the climacteric syndrome.

Estudio analítico, transversal y cuantitativo, realizado en una Unidad Básica de Salud del área rural del municipio de Buriti dos Montes-PI. La muestra se basó en el número de mujeres registradas en la UBS con edades entre 40 y 65 años. Se excluyeron del estudio las mujeres que habían sido ooforectomizadas o que estaban usando Terapia de Reemplazo Hormonal. Para la recolección de datos, se utilizó un cuestionario que abordaba la caracterización socioeconómica de las participantes de la investigación y otro cuestionario que abordaba la calidad de vida de las mujeres climatéricas (Cuestionario de Salud de la Mujer). La investigación siguió las normas de la ética en investigaciones relacionadas con seres humanos. La edad promedio de las mujeres era de 55 años, casadas, multíparas, mestizas, con renta familiar inferior a 1 salario mínimo. Tenían sobrepeso y la mayoría tenía un riesgo muy alto de complicaciones metabólicas. La edad media de la menarquia fue de 13,15 años y de la menopausia de 46,51 años. La mayoría de los participantes de la investigación utilizaban algún medicamento con mayor incidencia de antihipertensivos, no realizaban actividad física y eran sexualmente activos. Las quejas que más afectaron a los participantes fueron dolor de espalda y extremidades, sofocos y sudores nocturnos. El dominio que más comprometió la calidad de vida de las mujeres climatéricas fue el de los síntomas vasomotores. La calidad de vida de la mujer climatérica se ve afectada por el síndrome climatérico.Analisar os sintomas e a qualidade de vida de mulheres no climatério atendidas na atenção básica de saúde. Estudo analítico, transversal e quantitativo, realizado em Unidade Básica de Saúde da zona rural do município de Buriti dos Montes-PI. A amostra foi baseada no número de mulheres cadastradas na UBS com idade de 40 a 65 anos. Foram excluídas no estudo mulheres ooforectomizadas ou em uso de Terapia de Reposição Hormonal. Para a coleta de dados foram utilizados um questionário abordando a caracterização socioeconômica das participantes da pesquisa e outro questionário abordando a qualidade de vida das mulheres no climatério (Women’s Health Questionnare). A pesquisa seguiu as normas de ética em pesquisa relacionadas a seres humanos. A idade média das mulheres foi de 55 anos, casadas, multíparas, pardas, com renda familiar inferior a 1 salário-mínimo. Apresentavam sobrepeso e a maioria apresentava risco altíssimo para complicações metabólicas. A idade média da menarca foi 13,15 anos e da menopausa 46,51 anos. A maioria das participantes da pesquisa fazia uso de alguma medicação com maior incidência de anti-hipertensivos, não realizavam atividade física e eram sexualmente ativas. As queixas que mais afetaram as participantes foram dores nas costas e nos membros, fogachos e suores noturnos. O domínio que mais comprometeu a qualidade de vida das mulheres no climatério foram os sintomas vasomotores.
