The role of absorptive capacity in the entrepreneurial intention of students at a public university

Resumo: This article aims to analyze the influence of the individual absorption capacity on the entrepreneurial intention of students of the administration course at a Public University. For this, a quantitative, descriptive and correlational approach was used. Data were obtained from primary sources through a survey with a questionnaire, answered by 158 students. The data were initially treated and analyzed using the statistical software SPSS 20, where normality and sample adequacy tests were performed. Then, structural equation modeling was performed using the SmartPLS 3 software. The results showed that the entrepreneurial intention is influenced by the individual absorption capacity of students in the Administration course. The research contributes with complementary provocations to studies on individual absorption capacity and its interaction with entrepreneurship linked to the university environment, contributes to the strengthening of the business sector that are potential recruiters of university students.

Para esto, se utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo, descriptivo y correlacional. Los datos se obtuvieron de fuentes primarias a través de una encuesta con un cuestionario, respondido por 158 estudiantes. Los datos se trataron y analizaron inicialmente utilizando el software estadístico SPSS 20, donde se realizaron pruebas de normalidad y adecuación de la muestra. Luego, se realizó el modelado de ecuaciones estructurales utilizando el software SmartPLS 3. Los resultados mostraron que la intención empresarial está influenciada por la capacidad de absorción individual de los estudiantes en el curso de Administración. La investigación contribuye con provocaciones complementarias a los estudios sobre la capacidad de absorción individual y su interacción con el emprendimiento vinculado al entorno universitario, contribuye al fortalecimiento del sector empresarial que son reclutadores potenciales de estudiantes universitarios.Este artigo tem por objetivo analisar o efeito da capacidade de absorção individual na intenção empreendedora dos discentes do curso de administração de uma universidade pública. Para tanto, utilizou-se de uma abordagem quantitativa, descritiva e correlacional. A obtenção dos dados se deu por fontes primárias mediante survey com questionário, respondidos por 158 discentes. Os dados foram inicialmente tratados e analisados utilizando o software estatístico SPSS 20, onde foram realizados os testes de normalidade e de adequação da amostra. Em seguida, foi realizada a modelagem de equações estruturais a partir do software SmartPLS 3. Os resultados alcançados relevaram que a intenção empreendedora é influenciada pela capacidade absorção individual dos discentes do curso de Administração.
