Numerical analysis of horizontally loaded piles reinforced with soil-cement blocks inserted on top

Resumo: | To better understand the influence of soil reinforcements in improved soil. A numerical study was performed on the influence of insertion of soil-cement blocks as reinforcement on the top of horizontally loaded piles, using 3D finite element models, evaluating the effect of different dimensions of reinforcements on the local soil. The simulated models were calibrated from the results of static load tests carried out on bored reinforced concrete piles, with and without the reinforcement of soil-cement block on the surface. Numerical models were built using Simulia™ Abaqus® v.6.13 software. The constitutive behavior of concrete and soil-cement was considered as Concrete Damaged Plasticity (CDP) and the soil was considered with Mohr-Coulomb’s constitutive model. Different dimensions of the reinforcement in relation to the diameter of the pile were then computationally simulated, identifying their influence on the load-displacement curve. As a result, the soil-cement block reinforcement improves the performance of the pile, reducing by up to 79.8% the horizontal displacements identified with the larges reinforcement analyzed. |

Se realizó un estudio numérico sobre la influencia de la inserción de bloques de suelo-cemento como refuerzo en la superficie de pilotes cargados horizontalmente, utilizando modelos 3D de elementos finitos, evaluando el efecto de diferentes dimensiones de refuerzos sobre el suelo local. Los modelos simulados fueron calibrados a partir de los resultados de las pruebas de carga estática realizadas en pilotes de hormigón armado excavados, con y sin el uso de refuerzo de suelo-cemento. Los modelos numéricos se construyeron utilizando el software Simulia™ Abaqus® v.6.13. El comportamiento constitutivo del hormigón y del suelo-cemento se consideró como Concrete Damaged Plasticity (CDP) y el suelo se consideró con el modelo constitutivo de Mohr-Coulomb. Luego, se simuló computacionalmente diferentes dimensiones del refuerzo en relación con el diámetro del pilote, identificando su influencia en la curva carga-desplazamiento. Como resultado, el refuerzo de bloques de suelo-cemento mejora el comportamiento del pilote, reduciendo hasta en un 79,8% los desplazamientos horizontales identificados con el mayor refuerzo analizado.De modo a entender melhor a influência de reforços no solo com o uso de solo melhorado. Foi realizado um estudo numérico sobre a influência da inserção de blocos de solo-cimento como reforço no topo de estacas carregadas horizontalmente, usando modelos 3D em elementos finitos, avaliando o efeito de diferentes dimensões de reforços no solo local. Os modelos simulados foram calibrados a partir dos resultados de provas de carga estática realizadas em estacas do tipo escavada de concreto armado, com e sem a utilização do reforço em solo-cimento instalado no topo. Os modelos numéricos foram construídos no software Simulia™ Abaqus® v.6.13. O comportamento constitutivo do concreto e do solo-cimento foi considerado como Concrete Damaged Plasticity (CDP) e o solo foi considerado com o modelo constitutivo de Mohr-Coulomb. Foram então simuladas computacionalmente diferentes dimensões do reforço em relação ao diâmetro da estaca, identificando sua influência na curva carga deslocamento.
