Burnout syndrome and stress experienced by nurses in the intensive care unit: a literature review

Resumo: | This is a bibliographical research of a qualitative approach that has as object of study the triggering factors of the Burnout Syndrome and the stress in the nurse that works in the ICU, that aimed to Identify bibliographic data about the triggering factors of Burnout Syndrome and the stress in the nurse who works at the Intensive Care Center; To reflect on possible strategies for the reduction of Burnout Syndrome and stress in the nurse who works at the Intensive Care Center. For this purpose, the Virtual Health Library was used in the LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE information base with time cut from 2008 to 2018 The most frequent stress factors were: closed and continuous noise environments, staff interpersonal relationship, overwork, salary dissatisfaction and responsibility in assigning patients with high complexity, which also contribute to triggering Burnout Syndrome. It is concluded that ICU needs to be a healthy environment with better working conditions to prevent professional exhaustion, which will reflect not only the nurse, but also the care provided to the patient; and that the systematization of assistance can be of great value in this process. |

It is concluded that ICU needs to be a healthy environment with better working conditions to prevent professional exhaustion, which will reflect not only the nurse, but also the care provided to the patient; and that the systematization of assistance can be of great value in this process.Esta es una investigación bibliográfica de un enfoque cualitativo que tiene como objeto de estudio los factores desencadenantes del Síndrome de Burnout y el estrés en la enfermera que trabaja en la UCI, con el objetivo de identificar datos bibliográficos sobre los factores desencadenantes del Síndrome de Burnout y el estrés. en la enfermera que trabaja en el Centro de Cuidados Intensivos; Reflexionar sobre posibles estrategias para la reducción del Síndrome de Burnout y el estrés en la enfermera que trabaja en el Centro de Cuidados Intensivos. Para este propósito, la Biblioteca Virtual de Salud se utilizó en la base de información LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE con un corte de tiempo de 2008 a 2018 Los factores de estrés más frecuentes fueron: ambientes cerrados y continuos de ruido, relación interpersonal del personal, exceso de trabajo, insatisfacción salarial y responsabilidad en asignar pacientes con alta complejidad, que también contribuyen a desencadenar el Síndrome de Burnout. Se concluye que la UCI debe ser un entorno saludable con mejores condiciones de trabajo para evitar el agotamiento profesional, lo que reflejará no solo a la enfermera, sino también la atención brindada al paciente; y que la sistematización de la asistencia puede ser de gran valor en este proceso. Trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica de abordagem qualitativa que tem como objeto de estudo os fatores desencadeantes da Síndrome de Burnout e do estresse no enfermeiro que atua no CTI, que objetivou Identificar dados bibliográficos acerca dos fatores desencadeantes dessa síndrome e do estresse no enfermeiro que atua no Centro de Tratamento Intensivo; Refletir sobre possíveis estratégias para minimização dessa Síndrome e do estresse no enfermeiro que atua no Centro de Tratamento Intensivo. Para tal utilizou-se a Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde, na base de informação LILACS, SCIELO, MEDLINE com recorte temporal de 2008 a 2018. Os fatores estressores mais evidenciados foram: ambientes fechado e com ruídos contínuos, relação interpessoal da equipe, excesso de trabalho, insatisfação salarial e a responsabilidade nas atribuições a pacientes de alta complexidade, que contribuem também para desencadear a Síndrome de Burnout.
