Resumo: This article seeks to establish some comparative points about the so-called“opposition funerals”, in nineteenth-century in France and Brazil, frompropositions presents in the innovative approach of Emmanuel Fureixproposals on the occasion of the Forum Magazine Almanack, occurred in08/26/2014, which is shown here as article. In this work, Fureix analyzedthe protest rites in France of the 1830s and 1840s and among themfocused the funerals of Liberals that became ceremonial opposed to thegovernment of the monarchist Restoration, giving new kinds of funeralrites. The dialogue with their proposals will seek to analyze the feasibilityof reflecting on such opposition burials in nineteenth-century Brazil.

Neste trabalho,Fureix analisou os ritos de protesto na França das décadas de 1830 e1840 e situou entre eles os funerais de liberais que, no contexto da época,transformaram-se em verdadeiros cerimoniais de oposição ao governo daRestauração monárquica, inaugurando novos rituais fúnebres.
