Resumo: | This article aims to analyze how the state agencies responsible forthe administration of Rio de Janeiro and Havana stitched the thin plotthat enabled that in these two cities, that the significant increase ofthe slave population did not represent an danger on the security ofboth cities, which had unique importance in the political units thatthey were part. From the comparative analysis of documents producedbetween 1816 and 1820 by the authorities responsible for the goodgovernance of these two cities, we intend to examine part of thedynamics experienced in the daily lives of those that have become thetwo largest slavery cities in the Americas. |
