Resumo: This article deals with the escape of minors from family homes in Fortaleza, from the end of the 19th century to the 20th century. The article also highlights how this issue was correlated with the problem of servers and with the public health crisis generated by syphilis at the beginning of the 20th century. The homes of tutors and employers constituted spaces of correction by the ethos of work. But the minors proved to be able to act for themselves, to make choices and to promote ruptures, even if punctual, in social structures rooted in a society between the end of slavery and the context of the immediate post-Abolition.

El artículo también destaca cómo este tema se correlacionaba con el problema de los funcionarios y la crisis de salud pública generada por la sífilis a principios del siglo XX. Las casas de los tutores y los empleadores eran espacios de corrección por el espíritu del trabajo. Pero los menores demostraron ser capaces de actuar por sí mismos, tomar decisiones y promover rupturas, aunque puntuales, en estructuras sociales arraigadas en una sociedad entre el fin de la esclavitud y el contexto de la inmediata post-abolición.Este artigo trata da fuga de menores de idade das casas familiares de Fortaleza, do final do século XIX ao século XX. O artigo também destaca como essa questão foi correlacionada com o problema dos servidores e com a crise de saúde pública gerada pela sífilis no início do século XX. As casas de tutores e empregadores constituíram-se em espaços de correção pelo ethos do trabalho.
