Resumo: The growing volume of georeferenced data and the interest of organizations in the distribution and presentation of this data in the Internet has led to a great demand for Web Geographic Information Systems (WebGIS) development. In general, the Web GIS are characterized by simple and intuitive interface for the presentation, manipulation and creation of maps in the Web. The easy use and availability of restricted set of the functionalities of easy understanding and assimilation by non-specialist users, has led these systems to the great acceptance by the general public. These characteristics of Web GIS make these systems the preferred way for geospatial data dissemination. Despite the simplicity and facility use, the Web GIS development process is not a trivial task, mainly when this development is based on free technologies and environment. The development for these environments requires from the developer a domain of all environment computational details that support maps publication and others Web technologies used. This difficult is because the lack of tools to help the process of development of Web GIS projects, turning this activity in a manual and tedious process. In this context, this dissertation proposes a computational tool that aims to minimize the time and effort of the Web GIS development based on free environment. The SIGWeb Builder tool allows developer to abstract technologic details of environment. This tool enables the Web GIS developers to concentrate their efforts on business logic, functionalities and presentation of the application.

De uma forma geral, os SIG Webs são caracterizados por uma interface simples e intuitiva para a apresentação, manipulação e criação de mapas no ambiente Web. A facilidade de uso e a disponibilização de apenas um conjunto restrito de funcionalidades de fácil entendimento e assimilação por usuários não especialistas, levaram estes sistemas a uma grande aceitação por parte do público em geral, tornando-os o meio preferencial para a disseminação de dados geoespaciais. A despeito da simplicidade e facilidade de uso, o processo de desenvolvimento de SIG Webs não é uma tarefa trivial, principalmente quando o desenvolvimento é baseado em tecnologias e ambientes livres e gratuitos. O desenvolvimento para estes ambientes requer, por parte do desenvolvedor, o domínio de todos os detalhes técnicos do ambiente que fornece o suporte para publicação de mapas e das demais tecnologias Web envolvidas. Esta dificuldade deve-se ao fato de não existirem ferramentas que auxiliem o processo de construção de projetos SIG Web, transformando esta atividade em um processo manual e tedioso. Neste contexto, esta dissertação propõe uma ferramenta computacional que visa minimizar o tempo e o esforço de desenvolvimento de projetos SIG Web em ambientes livres e gratuitos. A ferramenta SIGWeb Builder permite ao desenvolvedor a abstração dos detalhes tecnológicos dos ambientes que dão suporte à publicação dos mapas na Web, propiciando a estes profissionais uma dedicação as atividades mais nobres do processo de desenvolvimento de um SIG Web, tais como: a definição das regras de negócio dos sistemas, as funcionalidades a serem ofertadas e a apresentação da aplicação.Made available in DSpace on 2016-04-29T14:14:09Z (GMT).
