The study deals with the global power of terrorist organizations, seen violent actors, operating in settings of fear and terror, death and destruction and the phenomenon of terrorism The study is divided into three parts, the first presents a brief account of the field of International Relations; the second focuses on the phenomenon of terrorism; and the third provides concrete evidence, through data tables, of the origin and constitution of these agents of violence and a chronology showing frequent attacks perpetrated in the world, which materialises the force of its protagonism. The research uses the hypothetical-deductive method and the bibliographical technique through books, articles, Internet sites, concluding that the terrorist organizations are perceived as emerging non-state violent actors and that their own violence constitutes the reason for their empowerment.
