Resumo: The aim of this article is to retrace different attempts, in French-speaking Brazilian and Caribbean literature, to recover social memory, aiming at processes of construction/deconstruction identities, and point out the mythical figurations as collective representations that play an essential role in society: nurturing the identity dynamics and the construction of social memory.
