Resumo: This article discusses possibilities of comprehension of the Medieval period, taking as sources the iconography and religious architecture, which are analyzed historically within the microhistory parameters. To this end, we will conduct a theoretical and methodological discussion, in order to be able to demonstrate the status that the iconography and architecture hold as historical sources. We will discuss, finally, the possibilities for a greater comprehension of the Middle Ages through the union of iconographic and architectural studies with the microhistory.
