Resumo: This essay is the result of a fieldwork carried out in Genoa between the Latin American immigrants living in the city in 2002-2003. The analysis focuses on the arrival and origin societies to study migrants like a total subject, not only as emigrants or as immigrants. In the text I specify the reasons that have pushed them to leave the origin country, the insertion in the Genoa’s work environment and the available future perspective. A great importance takes the analysis of the insertion in the domestic service in Genoa, and the analysis of the labor market segmentation according to the genre and to the nationality of origin.

El análisis se enfoca sobre las sociedades de origen y de llegada para estudiar en migrante como un sujeto total, no tan solo como emigrante o como inmigrante. En el texto se detallan las razones que han empujado a dejar el país de origen, la inserción en el mundo laborar genovés y las eventuales perspectivas futuras. Particular importancia asume el análisis sobre la inserción en el trabajo domestico a Génova y la del mercado del trabajo segmentado según el género y la nacionalidad de origen.  Este ensaio é o resultado de um trabalho de campo realizado em Gênova entre a América Latina imigrantes residentes na cidade em 2002-2003. A análise se concentra nas sociedades de chegada e origem para estudar os migrantes como um sujeito total, não apenas como emigrantes ou como imigrantes. No texto eu especifico razões que os levaram a deixar o país de origem, a inserção na obra de Gênova ambiente e as perspectivas futuras disponíveis.
