A conciliação de princípios da economia solidária e dos negócios de impacto socioambiental: O caso BioFairTrade

The solidarity economy is based on changing the economic logic that founds the capitalist system, in which large organizations are always at a technological and competitive advantage in relation to small and medium-sized businesses. The so-called Socio-Environmental Impact Businesses (NIS) do not question the foundations of the capitalist system itself, but propose new business models, pointing out possible alternative paths within the existing logic. Ontologically, these two concepts come from different perspectives, however, it is possible to verify enterprises that present in their characteristics and practices a model of reconciliation of principles present in both EcoSol and the NIS. It is understood that, despite a paradigmatic divergence, such concepts can be reconciled and, with this, the EcoSol and NIS initiatives strengthened and enhanced. Considering these aspects, it is possible to invite debate on the efforts that have been made in the field of so-called socio-environmental impact businesses. Similar to what is envisioned in the solidarity economy, discussions about NIS have grown substantially and aim to establish a reconfiguration of business models. In this sense, this study proposes, through the case study of a NIS permeated by aspects of the solidarity economy, to discuss ways of reconciling principles between both concepts.
