Resumo: The article aims to discuss the relevance of the frugal innovation model and its positive effects on the democratization of distance postgraduate studies in Brazil, for the training of master’s in business schools. To support this discussion, the research contextualizes the problems and social inequalities that impede the democratization of stricto sensu postgraduate studies in the country. Frugal innovation results in delivering value through high-quality products and services accessible to middle-income populations and those at the bottom of the pyramid. The methodology used to construct the research was “snowball sampling”. The technique allows the researcher to find information in databases so that knowledge can be explored, experienced and perceived in a certain historical context. The Covid-19 pandemic has allowed a new aesthetic in current teaching models for students and teachers through the use of digital platforms. The study presents a proposal for a collaborative ecosystem between public universities, private universities, companies and the government to expand access to stricto sensu through platforms in management and business schools for potential students who enroll, but who do not have access to executive education due to income restriction.
