Resumo: Objective: To evaluate antioxidant intake by a sample of patients with CKD on hemodialysis with and without DM diagnosis.Material and Methods: Retrospective study of 38 patients with and without diagnosis of CKD. Dietary data were collected through the 24-hour dietary recall, and the values of vitamins A, D, E, C and minerals: iron, magnesium, manganese and zinc, selenium were analyzed. The analyzes were performed using Student’s t and Mann-Whitney tests to check if there was a difference in antioxidant consumption between patients with DM and without DM.Results: The mean age of the sample was 49.0 ± 7.6 years. Most were male (63.2%) and 47.4% had diabetes. Just over half of the sample (52.6%) had a diagnosis of CKD over 36 months. Vitamin C differed when comparing patients with diabetes and without diabetes (p<0.05). In the other evaluations, the consumption of antioxidant nutrients did not differ between patients in both groups (p>0.05).Conclusion: to observe that the consumption of vitamins A, D and E was below the recommendation, only vitamin C was at adequate levels in most of the patients evaluated, it was also found that the group without DM had a higher consumption of this vitamin.
