Resumo: Objective: to understand the importance of moral sensitivity to deal with cancer patients under palliative care.Materials and method: exploratory descriptive literature review using the LILACS database.Results: the results were given through two categories: “palliative care for cancer patients and the nurse, patient and family relationship” and “moral sensitivity as a premise for making ethical decisions in favor of cancer patients under palliative care”.Conclusion: moral sensitivity allows nurses to identify the moral component of each situation and to make the decision for the benefit of patients who are without prognosis with greater discernment, empathy, benevolence, love and compassion.
