Resumo: Soccer is a sport of great popularity throughout the world and the most practiced in Brazil featuring a large number and variety of injuries. The objective of this research was the investigation of musculoskeletal inju­ries found in the players of the teams of professional soccer of the Ponte Preta Athletic Association of Campinas - SP between the months of No­vember to December 2011, making a correlation of the positioning of the athlete in the field. The data of this research were collected through observation of the records of the Physiotherapy Sports Department of the Inter-Clinics College of Jaguariúna (FAJ). The survey consisted of 25 male athletes, aged among 13-18, and muscle injuries were the most frequent followed by bruises and sprains. Regarding to the role of the athlete in the field, the attackers have suffered the highest number of injuries, followed by goalkeepers and sides, respectively. The average number of physiotherapy sessions was 7.65 with clinical improvement and return to activities. It is hoped that these results will help in the survey of injuries resulting from soccer, the essential accompaniment of a multidisciplinary team in the treatment of practitioners of this sport is essential.

O objetivo desta pesquisa foi a investigação das lesões musculoesqueléticas encontradas nos jogadores das equipes de base do futebol profissional da Associação Atlética Ponte Preta, município de Campinas - SP entre os meses de novembro a dezembro de 2011, fa­zendo uma correlação do posicionamento do atleta dentro de campo. Os dados desta pesquisa foram coletados mediante observação dos prontu­ários junto ao Departamento de Fisioterapia Desportiva da Interclínicas na Faculdade de Jaguariúna (FAJ). A pesquisa foi constituída por 25 atletas do sexo masculino, idade variando entre 13 a 18 anos, sendo as lesões musculares as mais encontradas seguidas das contusões e das en­torses. Em relação à função do atleta em campo, os atacantes foram os que sofreram maior número de lesões, seguidos dos goleiros e laterais. O número médio de atendimentos de fisioterapia foi de 7,65 sessões com melhora do quadro e retorno às atividades.
