Traffic psychology: current perspectives of the brazilian psychologist at work in traffic

Understanding the Traffic Psychologist as a health professional who acts to promote actions aimed at prevention, intervention and rehabilitation in the traffic context, a literature review in SciELO, LILACS and PePSIC databases was proposed in order to elucidate in which health attention level the current prospects of Traffic Psychology are included from Brazil. The results show that most studies are related to primary level strategies, while a small core of studies is found at the tertiary level. It was possible to find out that the Traffic Psychologist has privileged preventive actions in their practices and that it is necessary to broaden perspectives in secondary level and to the tertiary, focusing on the development of diagnostic actions and the treatment of psychic health effects on people who interact in the urban mobility context.
