Resumo: Introduction: Motor development (MD) is a sequential and continuous process of changes in human behavior that are related to age. The infant’s MD is marked by important interaction with the environment, being vulnerable to physical and socio-environmental risks, when they exist. The Alberta Infant Motor Scale (AIMS) is a child assessment that objective to analyze the MD of infants. Objective: To identify the MD and related risk factors in children aged 0 to 18 months, dependent on servers of the Federal University of Amazonas - UFAM, noting that in this population, which presents a better income and education, there are other factors of risks correlated to the atypicity of MD.Method: Cross-sectional observational study in which infants were evaluated using questionnaires of clinical, socioeconomic, environmental variables and AIMS application. Results: 80% of the sample presented MD adequate, related for positive socioeconomic and environmental factors. Only two infants presented developmental changes related to W-sitting position. Conclusion: Traditional risk factors for MD were not observed in the sample. However, the permanence of the W-sitting presented a potential risk factor for the delay in MD, since all children who presented such a pattern demonstrated MD atypical.

Universidade LaSalle - Unilasalle Canoasdos Santos Furtado, Michelle AlexandrinaSilva Gonçalves Barbosa Mendonça, Ayrlesda Costa Lameira, Ana BeatrizFernandes Ferreira, Lucio2018-03-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/409610.18316/sdh.v6i1.4096Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 6, n. 1 (2018); 29-38Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 6, n. 1 (2018); 29-382317-8582reponame:Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinstname:Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)instacron:UNILASALLEporhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/4096/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/4096/775https://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/4096/776Direitos autorais 2018 Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-04-06T13:39:40Zoai:ojs.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br:article/4096Revistahttp://www.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimentohttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/oaisdh@unilasalle.edu.br2317-85822317-8582opendoar:2022-04-06T13:39:40Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano - Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)false
