Resumo: | Introduction: The prolonged time of mechanical ventilation associated with a prolonged period of weaning may also be related to a weakness in respiratory breathing. Inspiratory muscle training (IMT) is a therapeutic resource used to promote increased strength and endurance of inspired muscles, and can contribute to successful weaning in a shorter time, with IMT being the most used device in Threshold IMT, available to be muscle strength was measured using a manovacuometer. Objectives: to evaluate the effectiveness of inspiratory muscle strength in patients in inspired muscle training, using weaning from invasive mechanical ventilation. Methods: This is a bibliographic review, using electronic databases: LILACS, SciELO, MEDLINE AND BIREME, for a period of 06 years (2010-2016).Results: It was possible to observe that respiratory muscle training improves IPmax, increases HR, improves oxygenation and muscle inspiration strength, decreases hospital stay, improves PaO2 and helps not to wean. Conclusion: The application of auxiliary muscle breathing training in weaning from mechanical ventilation was observed. |
