Resumo: Introduction: The prolonged time of mechanical ventilation associated with a prolonged period of weaning may also be related to a weakness in respiratory breathing. Inspiratory muscle training (IMT) is a therapeutic resource used to promote increased strength and endurance of inspired muscles, and can contribute to successful weaning in a shorter time, with IMT being the most used device in Threshold IMT, available to be muscle strength was measured using a manovacuometer. Objectives: to evaluate the effectiveness of inspiratory muscle strength in patients in inspired muscle training, using weaning from invasive mechanical ventilation. Methods: This is a bibliographic review, using electronic databases: LILACS, SciELO, MEDLINE AND BIREME, for a period of 06 years (2010-2016).Results: It was possible to observe that respiratory muscle training improves IPmax, increases HR, improves oxygenation and muscle inspiration strength, decreases hospital stay, improves PaO2 and helps not to wean. Conclusion: The application of auxiliary muscle breathing training in weaning from mechanical ventilation was observed.

Universidade LaSalle - Unilasalle CanoasEpaminondas, Lorena Cristine SoaresDias, Williane Sarmentodos Santos, Renato Caldas2020-06-03info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/627510.18316/sdh.v8i2.6275Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 8, n. 2 (2020); p. 151-158Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano; v. 8, n. 2 (2020); p. 151-1582317-8582reponame:Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinstname:Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)instacron:UNILASALLEporhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/view/6275/pdfhttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/article/downloadSuppFile/6275/1286Direitos autorais 2020 Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humanoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2022-03-31T12:09:49Zoai:ojs.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br:article/6275Revistahttp://www.revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimentohttps://revistas.unilasalle.edu.br/index.php/saude_desenvolvimento/oaisdh@unilasalle.edu.br2317-85822317-8582opendoar:2022-03-31T12:09:49Saúde e Desenvolvimento Humano - Universidade La Salle (UNILASALLE)false
