Resumo: The following essay, of an investigative nature, intends to offer an analysis of the institutional political economy of Ukraine and the Czech Republic. Specifically, it is interesting to make a comparative approach to the institutional performance of both countries in their post-transition period to market economies, based on the existence or not of institutional complementarity, this being the partial result of the form of privatization adopted. The results may help in the analysis of other cases of countries in transition to market economies, considering their institutional performance and form of privatization to be adopted.
