Evaluation of the morphology of apical lower incisors at different levels

In order to evaluate the morphology of the canal, were collected 100 lower incisors. The teeth were cut with steel disk double-face at different apical levels (1, 3 and 5 mm), and for evaluation were prepared on glass sheet for histology. The cuts were taken to the stereo-microscope to microscopic analysis of the canal morphology. The results showed that long-oval format was found in 48% of canals to 1mm, 64% to 3 and 5 mm. The format oval was found in 36% of the studied canals 1 and 5mm the apex, the circular form was found only 1mm of the apex (16%). The frequency of two channels is low, making a total of 8%. The results showed that the incidence of elongated oval canals is large in the third apical, and the circulars preparations promoted by the instrumentation may not reach all the walls of the root canal leaving areas without being played with remains of infected material, leaving the cleaning over the auxiliary substances, which can lead to failure of therapy.
