Resumo: | In 1982, Leonel Brizola was elected governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro. When he was sworn in in 1983, he started an impacting policy in education: the creation of the Centros Integrados de Educação Pública, the CIEP's. Studying Brizola's role in the formulation of the program, its impacts and questionings, is the main axis of this article. To this end, the article will be structured as follows: The resumption of democratization in the country and the context of the 1982 elections. Highlighting the impact on the process of political opening the meaning of Brizola's victory. The role of Rio de Janeiro as an important center for the diffusion of educational projects throughout the history of Brazil. Understand how the Brizola government sought not only to retake the leading role of Rio de Janeiro, but also to put the importance of public education back on the political agenda. The construction of the program and its receptivity will be the last axis of analysis in the article. |

Para ello, el artículo se estructurará de la siguiente manera: La reanudación de la democratización en el país y el contexto de las elecciones de 1982. El papel de Río de Janeiro como importante polo de proyectos educativos a lo largo de la historia de Brasil. Comprender cómo el gobierno de Brizola buscó no solo recuperar el protagonismo de Río de Janeiro, sino también volver a poner en la agenda política la importancia de la educación pública. La construcción del programa y su receptividad será el último eje de análisis del artículo.Em 1982, Leonel Brizola foi eleito governador do estado do Rio de Janeiro. Empossado em 1983, iniciou uma política impactante na educação: a criação dos Centros Integrados de Educação Pública, os CIEP’s. Estudar o papel de Brizola na formulação do programa, seus impactos e questionamentos, é o eixo condutor do presente artigo. Para tal, o artigo irá se estruturar da seguinte forma: A retomada da democratização no país e o contexto das eleições de 1982. O papel do Rio de Janeiro como importante polo difusor de projetos educacionais ao longo da história do Brasil. Perceber como o governo Brizola buscou retomar não só o protagonismo do Rio de Janeiro, como recolocar a importância da educação pública na agenda política. A construção do programa e a sua receptividade será o último eixo de análises do artigo.
