Resumo: The objective of this work is tounders tand how geological and geomorphologicalfactors conditioned the natural landscapes compartmentation of the municipal ity ofCampo Azul. There fore, it was prepared a methodological script in three differentlevels: in the first level, cartographic materials were the basis for the preliminaryanalysis; in the second moment, it was carried out fieldwork in order to validate theinformation previo usly raised. In the third step, theef forts focused on the analysis oflandscapes, regarding to its interaction sand occurrence patterns. It concludes that thedetermining factors for this compartmentation were the geological andgeomorphological ones. It high lights there life planning event sandth e process ofdissecting of these surf acesby thehy drographics tream of the basin sof Pacuí andParacatu rivers, which drain the municipality.

Para tanto foi elaborado um roteiro metodológico em três etapas distintas: naprimeira etapa os materiais cartográficos serviram de base para as analises preliminares;no segundo momento, foram realizados trabalhos de campo no intuito de validar asinformações anteriormente levantadas Na terceira etapa, os esforços se concentraram naanálise das paisagens no que se refere as suas interações e padrões de ocorrência.Conclui-se que os fatores determinantes para esta compartimentação foram osgeológicos e os geomorfológicos.
