Resumo: Part of a broader study on the roots of Bolsonarism, this brief essay is dedicated to the historical retrospective of striking features of the political culture embodied by bolsonarism and bolsonarists. Seen from the military dictatorship (1964-1985), antecedents and trajectories seek to highlight the procedural character of the relationship between civil political societies in contemporary Brazil, horizontalizing the combination operated between political authoritarianism and the “animal instinct” of the market on the ethical-political basis, now exposed by bolsonarismo and bolsonarists. Fruits of the business-military alliance of the times of dictatorship, arenistas, malufistas, colloridos, among many, gave political life to the terms dictated by the military, updating them periodically during the process of democratizing civil life in the country. Products of the contradictions between political and civil societies, collected in series, Bolsonarism (phenomenon) and Bolsonarists (subjects) are thus understood as the contemporary, and therefore also peculiar, from the ultimate political culture bequeathed by the military dictatorship to the course of democracy in Brazil.
