Food and religion from an anthropological perspective: a brief study on sacred foods in Candomblé Bantu

Resumo: The article presents reflections on the eating practices of the terreiro peoples with the objective of showing the dimensions of knowledge and traditions related to the cuisine of saints in Candomblé, highlighting characteristics of the African Bantu religious tradition in Brazil. Aiming at the terreiro's kitchen as a space for sociability through the production of saint's food, thinking both about issues related to food and the social relationships established in the kitchen. The theoretical foundation is based on the Anthropology of Food, using a bibliographic review as a methodological procedure, demonstrating the importance of food in the preservation and continuity of religious practices.

Visando a cozinha do terreiro como espaço de sociabilidades através da produção das comidas de santo, pensando tanto nas questões relativas à alimentação quanto nas relações sociais constituídas na cozinha.
