Resumo: O objetivo geral busca verificar o surgimento da sociologia no Brasil, tendo como nossa principal referencial teórico Florestan Fernandes e outros autores com foco na sociologia brasileira. Pretendemos com essas reflexões delimitar no amplo e vago campo as várias facetas relacionadas a sociologia brasileira, mais especificamente os estudos de Florestan a respeito dessa ciência. Metodologicamente, essa é uma pesquisa bibliográfica, que utiliza materiais bibliográficos referentes ao tema levantados junto a fontes fidedignas voltadas à pesquisa científica e acadêmica.
