Resumo: The objective of the article is to contextualize the Amazonian General Language in the region of the Middle Amazon River, more precisely in the municipalities of Parintins and Barreirinha, in the State of Amazonas. Initially, we sought to understand the arrival of the Amazonian General Language in the Middle Amazon River, considering the reports of chroniclers and missionaries such as Acuña (1641), Bettendorff (1687) and Daniel (1776). Finally, we seek to present historical and geographical features that help us to contextualize the Amazonian General Language in that region.
