Resumo: The article is the result of analyzes on the “state of the art” regarding the mineral issue in geographic science/ Brazil. At this stage, with an analytical spatial cut focused on the North region. Mineral activity produces and reproduces space, supported by the capitalist mode of production, which is supported by the State, constituting a hegemonic activity that is territorialized. The Amazon coexists with an atrocious territorial violence that subjugates territories of native peoples, the countryside and traditional communities. The objective of the study was to analyze the production of Geography regarding mining in the North region, within the scope of Graduate Programs in Geography, between 1987 and 2020. A qualitative approach and document analysis were adopted. Data were obtained through the Open Data Portal of Capes and a set of 61 surveys was examined. The discussion of the results took place from a dialectical perspective through the interpretative route of content analysis in order to observe and understand the movement of reality and the theoretical-conceptual development of geographic science. There was a growing trend in research on the subject, the predominance of the territory category and the line of approach on conflicts, centrality in the state of Pará.
