Resumo: Water is essential for the development and maintenance of life on the planet and is essential for the practice of activities such as agriculture, cattle-raising, industry, commerce, supply and domestic use, among others. We must know the actions and interrelationships existing in a hydrographic basin and the components related to anthropic actions triggered by degradation and environmental impacts. Field visits on site were used in order to identify the main environmental impacts and their consequences in the Guavinipã river basin, in the north of Minas Gerais, generated by human action, for verification and collection of data that were georeferenced and photographed, and for bibliographic revisions. Impacts were found in the basin, such as mining, deforestation, degradation of riparian vegetation, erosion, pollution, siltation, sewage and concentrated pasture and eucalyptus crops. The need for the adoption of measures by the government together with the population was revealed as a means to control and mitigate the impacts through environmental education, aiming at the preservation and reduction of impacts in the Guavinipã river basin.

Editora Unimontes2021-09-01info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionArtigoapplication/pdfhttps://www.periodicos.unimontes.br/index.php/cerrados/article/view/432110.46551/rc24482692202127Revista Cerrados; v. 19 n. 02 (2021): Revista Cerrados ; 280-3022448-26921678-8346reponame:Revista Cerrados (Montes Claros.
