The hidrographic basin as fundamental unit of landscape analysis: the Pacuí basin and its relation with São Francisco basin

This paper seeks to understand the hydrographic basin as a basic and spatial unit in the environment analysis, staying implicit the adoption of the landscape and environment integrated view. In that sense, it is presented a brief theoretical review about the study evolution of hydrographic basins. This discussion is done necessary for the understanding of how the hydrographic basin concept have been worked in Geography. Hereafter, it will be done a landscape contextualization of Pacuí Basin and its relation with São Francisco Basin. At the same time, it contemplates brief reflections over the urban and rural land use and occupation and the great municipality environmental and socioeconomic differences which makes part of Pacuí Basin. At the end of this article, it is realized that the Pacuí landscape needs a planning that consider management and conservation concrete measures of natural resources existing in Pacuí Basin.
