Tourism as a source of generation of work and income: considerations about the sector in river basin from the Alto Viamão – Mato Verde/MG

This present work has as purpose to discuss the issues related to the touristic sector on the city Mato Verde/MG, and in special the river basin from alto Viamão. For this study, bibliographic researches were made referring to the social aspects of the city, the river basin, tourism, and touristic circuit. The recognition of the research area was reached by topographic document, Thematic Charter, satelite images, field research and interviews that were ‘t structured with the people living on the river basin from the alto Viamão. The not social and economic issues are clear and the tourism might come to be a source to generate work and income, but it crumbles with the lack of planning and budget on within the sector. With the intention to contribute to decrease the issues that were verified, the study presents some alternatives and considerations about the touristic potential and touristic activities viable on the region. It is necessary to emphasize that, when making a touristic plan it is necessary a holistic and integrated view, the idea of planning may not be focused only on economic areas, because the developing is based in ecological, social, cultural, political, and economical sustentability.
