Resumo: | The article seeks to understand the relationships between intra-urban centrality and regional polarization in the “Region of 44th street” section, a factor that consolidates the studied area as a very important centrality in the intra-urban context of Goiânia. According to the REGIC (2018) methodology, the city of Goiânia concentrates the largest textile hub in Brazil, even surpassing Brás in São Paulo. This way, we present that the investigated centrality is responsible for the articulation of the local with the national, generating mainly economic flows, conferring a certain uniqueness at the national level. Methodologically, the research included a bibliographic review and a survey of secondary data. The research results point to the cause-and-effect relationships between the centrality of the “Region of 44th street” and the regional polarization of Goiânia, demonstrating how the agglomeration of commerce and services linked to the textile sector in the studied area, articulate the capital of the State of Goiás with the other regions of Brazil. |
