Resumo: O artigo foi baseado em pesquisas, cujo objetivo foi fazer uma análise preliminar para oconhecimento e forma de tratamento ortodôntico em pacientes com problemas periodontais,através de estudos, relatando a grande dúvida de muitos profissionais refere à possibilidade deuma intervenção ortodôntica em pacientes com comprometimentos periodontais associado comperdas ósseas severas, devido à doença periodontal. Outro fator importante é referente aintensidade do tracionamento que deve ser aplicada nos dentes com comprometimentosperiodontais, que precisam ser mantidas dentro dos limites com a intensidade inferior à utilizadaem pacientes com periodonto íntegro.
