Resumo: The application of non-edible raw materials for the production of biodiesel is an alternative to reduce costs and possible depletion of food from the application of edible oilseeds that are generally applied. For this reason, the production of biodiesel from the radish seed oil is interesting. The radish (Raphanus sativus L.) seed oil is considered non-edible due to the high content of erucic acid and has favorable characteristics for such purpose, such as high oil content, adequate composition in fatty acids and other physico-chemical characteristics. Technologies for oil extraction and ester production are addressed as resources that can sustain the production of biodiesel from inedible oils, reducing inputs and energy costs. Therefore, the objective of this work is to review the potential of the radish seed oil for biodiesel production and process intensification technologies.

Editora Uningá2020-03-31info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionTextoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/otherapplication/pdfhttps://revista.uninga.br/uningareviews/article/view/2872Uningá Review ; Vol. 35 (2020); eRUR2872Uningá Review ; v. 35 (2020); eRUR28722178-2571reponame:UNINGÁ Reviewinstname:Centro Universitário Uningáinstacron:UNINGAporhttps://revista.uninga.br/uningareviews/article/view/2872/2211Copyright (c) 2020 REVISTA UNINGÁ REVIEWhttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessStevanato, Natáliade Mello, Bruna Tais FerreiraMassa, Thainara BovoSilva, Camila da2023-10-17T15:05:53Zoai:ojs.revista.uninga.br:article/2872Revistahttps://revista.uninga.br/uningareviews/indexPUBhttps://revista.uninga.br/uningareviews/oairevistauningareview@uninga.edu.br || sec.revistas@uninga.edu.br2178-25712178-2571opendoar:2023-10-17T15:05:53UNINGÁ Review - Centro Universitário Uningáfalse
