Resumo: Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo verificar a ocorrência deestresse e a sintomatologia associada na equipe de enfermageme de médicos atuantes, na emergência psiquiátrica em um hospitalgeral. Para tanto, foi realizado um estudo descritivo exploratório,com abordagem quantitativa, a partir da aplicaçãodo Inventário de Sintomas de Estresse para Adultos de LIPP,junto a 22 profissionais, sendo seis médicos, cinco enfermeirose 11 auxiliares de enfermagem, que atuam em uma unidade deemergência psiquiátrica em um hospital geral. A análise dosdados se baseou em estatística descritiva simples. Verificou-sebaixo nível de estresse nos sujeitos da pesquisa, contudo altoíndice de sintomas que caracterizam a fase de resistência parao estresse. Assim, conclui-se ser necessário estabelecer estratégiasde prevenção desses sintomas, a fim de estabelecer umamelhor qualidade de vida no ambiente laboral.
