Capture and Utilization of Water From Rain: The Way for Sustainable School

Resumo: | Currently, issues related to environmental preservation and responsible use of water, have become a global concern, which has driven the increasing number of public policies aimed at promoting sustainable practices. In this context, it addresses the implementation of a system harnessing rainwater for non-potable purposes in a school unit. This article aimed to evaluate the results obtained from the use of tanks to capture and use of rainwater in a state school of Paraná, in the city of Marechal Cândido Rondon. It is a descriptive exploratory research, qualitative and quantitative approach. Based on data from historical series water consumption of the College Eron Domingues, a relationship between the consumption of water and the monthly rainfall for the period was established. The results confirmed the efficiency of the capture of rain water system, reducing the consumption of treated water supplied by the Water and Sewage Company, up 57.2%. Thus, while stimulating in students an awareness focused on sustainability, inclusion of knowledge and environmental practices at school, comprise the prospect of a multiplier effect on society. |

En este contexto, se cuestiona la aplicación de un sistema de agua de lluvia para fines no potables en una unidad escolar. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo evaluar los resultados obtenidos a partir del uso de tanques para capturar y el uso del agua de lluvia en una escuela del estado de Paraná, en la ciudad de Rondon. Se trata de una investigación exploratoria descriptiva, enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo. Con base en datos de la serie histórica del consumo de agua de la universidad Eron Domingues, se estableció una relación entre el consumo de agua mensual y precipitaciones en el período. Los resultados confirman la eficacia del sistema de captura de agua de lluvia, lo que reduce el consumo de agua tratada suministrada por la Compañía de Agua y Alcantarillado, hasta 57.97%. Así, mientras se estimula a los estudiantes una conciencia enfocada en la sostenibilidad, la inclusión de los conocimientos y prácticas ambientales en la escuela, comprender la perspectiva de un efecto multiplicador en la sociedad.Atualmente, as questões relacionadas à preservação ambiental e ao uso consciente da água passaram a ser uma preocupação mundial, o que tem impulsionado o aumento crescente de políticas públicas voltadas à promoção de práticas sustentáveis. Nesse contexto, aborda-se a implantação de um sistema de aproveitamento das águas das chuvas para fins não potáveis em uma unidade escolar. Este artigo teve como objetivo avaliar os resultados obtidos com a utilização de cisternas para a captação e uso da água pluvial, em uma escola estadual do Paraná, no município de Marechal Cândido Rondon. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa e quantitativa. Com base nos dados das séries históricas de consumo de água do Colégio Eron Domingues, foi estabelecida uma relação entre o consumo de água mensal e o índice pluviométrico no período. Os resultados confirmam a eficiência do sistema de captação das águas da chuva, na redução do consumo de água tratada, fornecida pela empresa de Água e Esgoto, em até 57,97%.
