Resumo: This theoretical and empirical study aimed to understand the perception that local people have about the environmental impacts caused by the installation and operation of an eolic enterprise in the surrounding community. The study of environmental perception is crucial for us to better understand the interrelationships between man and the environment, expectations, desires, satisfactions and dissatisfactions, judgments and behaviors. The spatial area adopted for the study is the community of Cumbe in Aracati / CE for its geomorphologic and climatologic presented sufficient conditions for the installation and use of wind energy in order to change the energy matrix of the municipality. This research is exploratory and descriptive design literature and case study, where to collect the data were collected through interviews with open questions to a group of residents near the eolic enterprise investigated and a prosecutor's Aracati. In the field research, we investigated the environmental impacts caused by the eolic plant, the level of understanding in the community about wind energy and the enterprise's contribution to community development, among other issues.

El estudio de la percepción ambiental es de fundamental importancia para que podamos comprender mejor las interrelaciones entre el hombre y el ambiente, sus expectativas, anhelos, satisfacciones e insatisfacciones, juicios y conductas.  El área espacial adoptada para el estudio es la comunidad del Cumbe, en el municipio de Aracati/CE, que por su formación geomorfológica y climatológica presentó condiciones suficientes para la instalación y utilización de la energía eólica de forma a modificar la matriz energética del municipio. La investigación fue exploratoria y descriptiva, con delineamiento bibliográfico y estudio de caso. Para recolectar los datos, fueron realizadas entrevistas con preguntas abiertas a un grupo de pobladores próximos al parque eólico que fue estudiado y a un fiscal de justicia del municipio de Aracati. En el estudio de campo fueron investigados los impactos socio-ambientales provocados por el parque eólico, el nivel de comprensión de la comunidad sobre la energía eólica y la contribución del emprendimiento para el desarrollo de la comunidad, entre otras cuestiones.No presente estudo teórico-empírico teve-se como objetivo compreender a percepção que a população local tem a respeito dos impactos socioambientais provocados pela instalação e operação de uma usina eólica na comunidade do entorno. O estudo da percepção ambiental é de fundamental importância para que possamos compreender melhor as inter-relações entre o homem e o ambiente, suas expectativas, anseios, satisfações e insatisfações, julgamentos e condutas.  O recorte espacial adotado para o estudo é a comunidade do Cumbe, no município de Aracati/CE, que pela sua formação geomorfológica e climatológica apresentou condições suficientes para a instalação e utilização da energia eólica de forma a modificar a matriz energética do município. Nesta pesquisa, de tipo exploratório e descritivo, com delineamento bibliográfico e estudo de caso, onde, para coletar os dados, foram realizadas entrevistas com perguntas abertas a um grupo de moradores próximos ao parque eólico em estudo e a um promotor de justiça do município de Aracati.
