Analysis of the Use Of Electric Energy in the Fluminense Federal Institute, at the Campos Guarus Campus

Resumo: | The expansion of the power sector, given the various environmental impacts of electricity generation, is worrisome without due care for the environment. The aim of the present study was to analyze electricity consumption patterns and its costs, with emphasis on lighting and air conditioning, at the Campos Guarus campus of the Fluminense Federal Institute. A diagnosis conducted through the analysis of electric bills was conducted, as well as visits to different administrative sectors and classrooms and interviews with the staff. A number of alternatives to reduce energy consumption was proposed, in addition to an economic viability analysis of these measures. Moreover, material describing good environmental practice actions was distributed. The results indicate that there is a misuse of energy at the campus, requiring the need for continuous awareness and sensitization actions by campus users. The performed calculations demonstrate that is possible to achieve energy savings by applying efficient exchanges in the lighting system, and that LED bulbs were the best option for this economy, bringing about swift returns of invested resources. |

El objetivo del estudio es hacer un análisis del padrón de consumo de energía eléctrica y sus costos, con énfasis en la iluminación y los aparatos de aire acondicionado del Instituto Federal Fluminense campus Campos Guarus. Para eso, se ha realizado un diagnóstico a través de un análisis de las cuentas de energía, visitas a los diferentes sectores administrativos y aulas y encuestas con los funcionarios. Algunas alternativas fueron propuestas con la intención de reducir el consumo de energía, y un análisis de viabilidad de las medidas propuestas. Además, material fue divulgado con acciones de buenas prácticas ambientales. Las respuestas han demostrado que hay un mal uso de la energía y por lo tanto las acciones continuas de conciencia y sensibilización de los usuarios del campus son necesarias. Los cálculos realizados han demostrado que es posible llegar a una economía de la energía con cambios eficaces en el sistema de iluminación y la bombilla de LED fue la mejor opción para obtener esa economía, teniendo un rápido retorno a la inversión.Diante dos diversos impactos ambientais causados pela geração de energia elétrica, torna-se preocupante a expansão do setor elétrico sem o devido cuidado com o meio ambiente. O objetivo do estudo foi analisar o padrão de consumo de energia elétrica e seus custos, com ênfase na iluminação e nos aparelhos de ar-condicionado, do Instituto Federal Fluminense campus Campos Guarus. Para isso, realizou-se um diagnóstico através da análise de contas de energia, visitas aos diferentes setores administrativos e salas de aula e entrevistas com os servidores. Foram propostas algumas alternativas para a redução do consumo de energia e uma análise da viabilidade econômica dessas medidas. Além disso, foi divulgado material com ações de boas práticas ambientais. Os resultados demonstraram que existe mau uso da energia e por isso há necessidade de ações contínuas de conscientização e sensibilização dos usuários do campus. Os cálculos realizados demonstraram que é possível atingir uma economia de energia com trocas eficientes no sistema de iluminação.
