Remediation Technology of Contaminated Areas with Organochlorines: A Preliminary Evaluation Seeking Potential Applications on the Site of Street Capua, Santo André - SP

Resumo: | This paper is aimed to analyze the use of remediation technologies for areas contaminated with organochlorine based on a literature review and discussions with specialists. The remediation technologies analyzed were bioremediation, phytoremediation, nanotechnology, chemical oxidation, and thermal desorption. The purpose is to identify and compare “key problems” for each of these technologies envisaging the use of one or more of these them f or the remediation of the Capua Street site in Santo André, SP. Four databases were used in the preliminary literature review: Scopus, SciELO, Web of Science, and Science Direct. A survey questionnaire was designed to gather information on publications of scientific papers and patents, specific uses of these technologies by companies, and cases of application. Since the quality of the data and information obtained from this questionnaire application was not satisfactory, a new research approach for complementing them was undertaken. For this purpose, the Web of Science was selected as the most adequate data basis to carry out this second survey. However, it was realized that even for this database - that is reference for evaluating academic institutions, researchers and maturity of technologies – bias coming from the original data source can affect the survey results. Moreover, as the number of keywords used in the research consisted of generic terms for each technology, it can also be assumed that if some authors have used very specific terms, a small amount of work published by them would possibly have been misrepresented in the final result. |

Las tecnologías de recuperación se analizaron: biorremediación, fitorremediación, nanoremediação, oxidación química, y la desorción térmica. El propósito es identificar y comparar las cuestiones clave para cada una de estas tecnologías con el fin de utilizar uno o más de ellos en la remediación del sitio contaminado de Capua Street, en Santo André - SP. Cuatro bases de datos se utilizaron en la revisión de la literatura preliminr: Scopus, SciELO, Web of Science y Science Direct. Se diseñó un cuestionario para orientar la búsqueda de información para las cinco tecnologías. Preguntado por la publicación de artículos científicos y patentes, usos específicos o combinaciones de estas tecnologías por parte de las empresas, y los casos de aplicación. Desde la sistematización de los resultados reveló una calidad insatisfória de información y datos generados, una nueva estrategia de investigación para complementar era delienada. La Web of Science fue elegido como el más adecuado para la realización de esta segunda encuesta, sin embargo, los resultados mostraron que incluso una base de datos de referencia para la evaluación de las instituciones académicas, los investigadores y la madurez de las tecnologías de este tipo pueden dar lugar a sesgos originarios de fuente original de los datos. Además, como el número de palabras clave utilizadas en la investigación consistió en términos genéricos para cada tecnología, esto significa que si algunos autores han utilizado términos más específicos, una pequeña cantidad de trabajo publicado por ellos posiblemente no han sido representado en el resultado final.Este trabalho analisa a utilização de tecnologias de remediação para áreas contaminadas com organoclorados com base em revisão bibliográfica e discussões com especialistas. As tecnologias de remediação analisadas foram: biorremediação, fitorremediação, nanoremediação, oxidação química, e dessorção térmica. O propósito é identificar e comparar problemas-chave para cada uma dessas tecnologias tendo em vista a utilização de uma ou mais delas na remediação do sítio contaminado da Rua Cápua, em Santo André – SP. Quatro bancos de dados foram utilizados na revisão preliminr da literatura: Scopus, SciELO, Web of Science e Science Direct. Um questionário foi elaborado para orientar a busca de informações para as cinco tecnologias. Questionou-se sobre a publicação de trabalhos científicos e de patentes, usos específicos ou combinados dessas tecnologias por empresas, e casos de aplicação. Como a sistematização dos resultados obtidos revelou uma qualidade insatisfória das informações e dados gerados, uma nova estratégia de pesquisa para complementá-los foi delienada. O Web of Science foi escolhido como o mais adequado para a realização deste segundo levantamento, porém, os resultados mostraram que mesmo um banco de dados de referência para avaliar as instituições acadêmicas, pesquisadores e maturidade de tecnologias como este, pode resultar em tendenciosidades originárias da fonte original dos dados.
