Antecedents of a competence management project: study of musical associations of the Military Police of Minas Gerais

Resumo: | Competency management is a model that aims to guide organizational processes, particularly those related to people management. Its objective is to identify and develop the competencies necessary to achieve organizational goals. This article had as objective to investigate what are the musical competences demanded from the members of the musical associations of the Military Police of Minas Gerais (PMMG). The intention of the research was to support the elaboration of a competency management project within the scope of the PMMG. A bibliographic and documentary review and an empirical research with field analysis was done, that was carried out in two forms: in one of them a closed questionnaire was applied to all members of the PMMG musical groups; in the other a list was sent only to the teachers of the musical associations, in which they indicated the fundamental skills to the musician of the PMMG associations according to their perception. The results obtained revealed the generic competences dominated by professional musicians; the prevailing types of skills; the influences of the demographic variables on the musicians’ competences; the fundamental competences according to the teachers’ perception and the competences still to be developed. These results were sufficient to provide a basis for the Institutional Strategic Plan, in order to subsidize a Competency Management Project for the Musicians, considering the particularities peculiar to their profession as musicians in articulation with their military activity. |

Tem como objetivo a identificação e desenvolvimento das competências necessárias ao atingimento de metas organizacionais. Este artigo teve como objetivo investigar quais são as competências musicais demandadas dos integrantes das agremiações musicais da Policia Militar de Minas Gerais (PMMG). A intenção da pesquisa foi dar suporte para a elaboração de um projeto de gestão por competências no âmbito da PMMG. Foram realizadas uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, além de uma pesquisa empírica com análise de campo em dois momentos: primeiro, pelo uso de um questionário fechado aplicado a todos os integrantes das agremiações musicais da PMMG; segundo, por uma lista enviada apenas para os maestros das agremiações musicais, na qual eles indicaram as competências fundamentais ao músico das agremiações da PMMG a partir da sua percepção. Os resultados obtidos revelaram as competências genéricas dominadas pelos profissionais músicos; os tipos de competências predominantes; as influências das variáveis demográficas nas competências dos músicos; as competências fundamentais na percepção dos maestros e as competências a serem desenvolvidas.
